MERRICK offers a full line of Mixers & Dissolvers designed to meet your chemical feed requirements. Our Mixers are available in any common voltage and both 50 & 60 Hz. The tanks are available in Polyethylene, Epoxy Painted Carbon Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, or Fiberglass construction. Each material option is designed to meet the customer’s specific application.
A Dust and Vapor Remover is attached to the side of the Dissolver and prevents vapors within the Dissolver from rising and entering the feeder. The action of its hydraulic jet creates a negative draft, drawing the vapor mixture out of the Dissolver. Baffles trap all water and allow only clean air to vent into the room.
Theory of Operation
A Dissolver serves as a chamber for mixing water with dry chemical as it is discharged (metered), typically from a screw feeder. The Dissolver receives both water and chemical simultaneously, although separately. Both are detained for thorough wetting and/or dissolving. Agitation is used to ensure thorough mixing within the Dissolver by a motor driven mixer or hydraulic jets. The Dissolver can be equipped with a float-operated inlet valve to maintain solution level. When a constant strength solution or level alarms are required, the dissolver can be equipped with conductance type probes to control solution level.
Available Capacities
MERRICK Dissolver Tanks are available in 5, 15, 35, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, and 500 gallon capacities. Dissolvers are also available with level control, incoming water control, and agitation options.
